Softball Recap: Dimond Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chugiak, Dimond was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Service Cougars by a score of 12-8. The Lynx haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Kylie Steed spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dimond got a massive performance out of Dani Herman, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Herman has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kinsey MacDonald, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dimond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Dimond's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Service, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6-1.

Dimond has already played their next matchup (against Chugiak), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Service, they will take on Bartlett at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
