Freedom Christian Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Gaston Christian Eagles a 15-0 shutout. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 contests by six runs or more this season.

Melanie Multerer was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Savannah Graham, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Freedom Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Freedom Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Gaston Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
