Football Game Preview: Las Cruces Bulldawgs vs. La Cueva Bears + Official Tickets

Las Cruces is 1-6 against La Cueva since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldawgs will host the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Las Cruces knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully La Cueva likes a good challenge.

Las Cruces is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Los Lunas as they made off with a 49-29 win. The Bulldawgs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Las Cruces to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Amaro, who rushed for 95 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Amaro is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another signal caller making a difference was Gunnar Guardiola, who threw for 291 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt.

Las Cruces didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hunter Parmeter and Mateo Montoya. Parmeter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, La Cueva faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bears skirted past the Hawks 24-21. The victory was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on ten straight.

Las Cruces' record is now 11-0. As for La Cueva, their record now sits at 10-2.

Las Cruces took a serious blow against La Cueva in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 47-19. Can the Bulldawgs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
