Basketball Recap: First Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Taylor + How To Watch

First Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Taylor Wildcats by a score of 72-70. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Despite the loss, First Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Busby shot 40% from the field on his way to 19 points. Miquel Antonio Boque Echavez was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Christian Nichols was nothing short of spectacular for Taylor: he posted 23 points and seven steals. Another player making a difference was James Thomas, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points and three steals.

First Academy has already played their next matchup, a 57-26 win against St. John Lutheran on the 20th. As for Taylor, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on International Community at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
