Basketball Recap: Conemaugh Township Extends Winning Streak to Four

Conemaugh Township hadn't done well against Windber recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Conemaugh Township Indians took down the Windber Ramblers 51-36. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Leading Conemaugh Township to victory were Ava Byer and Mayce Kordell. Byer dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards, while Kordell went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. Those 15 points gave Kordell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Danika Black, who posted four points and nine boards.

Conemaugh Township smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Conemaugh Township pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points over those games. As for Windber, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.

Conemaugh Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Windber, they will head out on the road to face off against Portage at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
