Recap: Moreau Catholic Mariners vs. Saint Mary's Panthers
After a string of three wins, the Moreau Catholic Mariners's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell to Saint Mary 51-46. Moreau Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Saint Mary's apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.
Several Mariners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elisa Ortega, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeline Bader, who scored ten points along with two blocks.
Moreau Catholic now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Saint Mary's, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moreau Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Irvington at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th.
