Softball Recap: Rampart Takes a Loss

After flying high against Doherty last Tuesday, Rampart came back down to earth. The Rams lost 15-3 to the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans on Monday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

Rampart saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victoria Kendall, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Rampart has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rampart will host Vista Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Liberty at 4:00 p.m. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lancers have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
