Baseball Recap: Savannah Country Day Comes Up Short

Savannah Country Day lost against Vidalia last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hornets fell 9-6 to the Indians. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brooks Kleinpeter put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Kleinpeter wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Sammons, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Savannah Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Vidalia, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day will face off against Bryan County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vidalia, they will take on Toombs County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
