Soccer Game Preview: La Mirada vs. Sage Hill

The La Mirada Matadores will head out to square off against the Sage Hill Lightning at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Mirada's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

La Mirada is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Heritage a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Matadores have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Sage Hill ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Santa Maria 1-0. Winning may never get old, but the Lightning sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

La Mirada is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven contests. Sage Hill's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
