Baseball Recap: Cheraw Braves vs. East Clarendon Wolverines
If Cheraw was feeling good fresh off their 15-6 takedown of Lake City on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Braves fell just short of the East Clarendon Wolverines by a score of 5-4 on Monday. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Crawford Poole made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run. Another player making a difference was Hayden McCormick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Cheraw's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for East Clarendon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.
