Basketball Recap: Seneca Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Seneca couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 47-37 to the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday. The Bobcats have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Makayla Presser-Palmer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 31 points and 20 rebounds for Northwestern. That makes it 24 consecutive games in which Presser-Palmer has scored at least a third of Northwestern's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Eddy, who posted six points and six boards.

Seneca's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Northwestern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 24-0.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Seneca will challenge Our Lady of the Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwestern, they will face off against Avonworth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwestern's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Avonworth's offense will have their work cut out for them.
