Softball Recap: Jenkins Takes a Loss

Jenkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 17-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-7 on Wednesday.

Ma'Kaiyah Gray was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Gray is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Sierra Thompson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Jenkins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for McIntosh County Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Jenkins will square off against East Hall at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McIntosh County Academy, they will head out to take on Bradwell Institute at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
