Lafayette County fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Penney on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 5-4. The Huskers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lafayette County's loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Lafayette County will head out to take on Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Huskers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Penney, they will take on Brookfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
