Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Bellevue East

Elkhorn South faced Bellevue East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm fell just short of the Chieftains by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 6-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Saoirse Park made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Elkhorn South's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Bellevue East, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Elkhorn South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-3 win against Bellevue West on the 19th. As for Bellevue East, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Gretna on the 19th.
