Soccer Game Preview: Shoemaker vs. Copperas Cove

Shoemaker is 0-9-1 against Copperas Cove since January of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. Shoemaker has given up an average of 6 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Shoemaker's offense. They came up short against Bryan on Friday, falling 12-0. While losing is never fun, Shoemaker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 718th, while Bryan are ranked 86th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Copperas Cove made sure to put some goals up on the board against Harker Heights on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Knights a 4-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Copperas Cove, who have now won four matchups by four goals or more so far this season.

Shoemaker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Copperas Cove, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Shoemaker might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Copperas Cove in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Can Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
