Soccer Game Preview: White County vs. Dawson County

The White County Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Dawson County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. White County will be strutting in after a win while Dawson County will be coming in after a loss.

White County took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Rabun County, sneaking past 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but White County were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Dawson County fell victim to Johnson and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Knights. While losing is never fun, Dawson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Johnson are ranked 72nd).

White County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four matches. Dawson County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

White County might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Dawson County in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can White County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
