Football Recap: Newkirk Comes Up Short

Newkirk came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Kellyville Ponies, falling 48-14.

Newkirk's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Kellyville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newkirk will welcome Alva at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kellyville, they will host Meeker at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ponies are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
