Basketball Game Preview: Center Cougars vs. Bear River Bruins

Center is 1-9 against Bear River since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Center Cougars will head out to square off against the Bear River Bruins at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Center didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wheatland, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win.

Reniaya Applin went supernova for Center, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Charlotte Wallace was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Bear River was able to grind out a solid victory over Marysville on Wednesday, taking the game 64-56.

Bear River has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Center, their record now sits at 5-18.

Center was taken down by Bear River 48-20 when the teams last played on January 10th. Can Center avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
