Softball Game Preview: West Monona Spartans vs. Treynor Cardinals

The West Monona Spartans will face off against the Treynor Cardinals on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Treynor will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: West Monona extended their winning streak to 18 on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand Griswold a 6-0 shutout. Six seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Treynor made easy work of St. Albert on Wednesday and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

West Monona's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Treynor, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.
