Football Recap: William Braun Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Pius X + How To Watch

Albuquerque Academy had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-3 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 49-36 win over the St. Pius X Sartans. With that victory, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 29.5 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Albuquerque Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than William Braun, who threw for 268 yards and five touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns Braun has posted since back in October of 2024. Logan Hague was Braun's top target, picking up 128 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, St. Pius X fell to 4-1. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (34), they still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why St. Pius X lost, don't look at Hershul Olloway Jr. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and three scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 91 receiving yards and one touchdown. Olloway Jr is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 102 every time he's taken the field this season. Isaiah Carpenter was another key player, throwing for 315 yards and a pair of TDs.

Albuquerque Academy has already played their next matchup, a 43-15 win against Manzano on the 11th. As for St. Pius X, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-7 victory against Portales on the 10th.
