Basketball Game Preview: Canyon Hills Rattlers vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens

The Canyon Hills Rattlers will challenge the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Canyon Hills will be strutting in after a win while Canyon Crest Academy will be coming in after a loss.

Canyon Hills took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 52-41 victory over Kearny. The win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Komets: they've now won five in a row.

Canyon Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophia Wilson, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 14 points. What's more, Wilson also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anayla Saulo, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against San Dieguito Academy, falling 49-16.

Canyon Hills pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points over those games. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
