Soccer Recap: Waukee Comes Up Short

Waukee came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Johnston Dragons, falling 9-1. If Waukee were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to Johnston when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Waukee dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Johnston, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-0-2 and their overall record up to 3-2-2.

Waukee wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 9-1 defeat against Woodward-Granger on the 15th. Johnston has also already played their next contest (against Northwest), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
