Softball Recap: Sonoraville Has No Trouble Against Coahulla Creek

Sonoraville owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Coahulla Creek Colts with a sharp 6-0 victory. That looming 6-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Phoenix yet this season.

The result came thanks to Lila Mullinax's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Cadence Mulkey was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ellie Wofford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Sonoraville's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Coahulla Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonoraville will host Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Coahulla Creek, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Christian Heritage at 12:00 p.m.
