Downey has gone 9-1 against Paramount recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Downey Vikings will be playing at home against the Paramount Pirates at 5:15 p.m. Downey's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Downey's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They beat Mayfair by a goal, winning 1-0. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Monsoons are ranked 686th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Paramount after they claimed the first goal on Thursday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell 3-1 to La Mirada. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Matadores recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Paramount's loss dropped their record down to 10-5-3. As for Downey, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11-2.
