Preview: Torrey Pines Falcons vs. Cathedral Catholic Dons
After three games on the road, Torrey Pines is heading back home. They will take on the Cathedral Catholic Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Torrey Pines will be strutting in after a victory while Cathedral Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Torrey Pines took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 66-16 win over Canyon Crest Academy. With that win, Torrey Pines brought their scoring average up to 52.1 points per game.
Torrey Pines' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Oliva, who scored 8 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Knauf, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Cathedral Catholic had to suffer through a rough 66-39 loss at the hands of Poway. Cathedral Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Torrey Pines' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 2-5. As for Cathedral Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Torrey Pines was able to grind out a solid win over Cathedral Catholic when the teams last played back in December of 2016, winning 55-48. Will Torrey Pines repeat their success, or does Cathedral Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
