Softball Recap: Telfair County Starts Season with Win Against Tattnall County

Telfair County had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Tattnall County Warriors as they made off with a 19-10 win. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Lylah Cate Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over ten innings while giving up six earned (and four unearned) runs off 14 hits (and only one walk). Jones was also big at the plate, going 3-for-7 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Trinity Deeds was incredible, going 5-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and two triples. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Perry Grace DeLoach was another key player, going 2-for-6 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Telfair County will be playing at home against Johnson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tattnall County, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Bacon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
