Volleyball Recap: Texas Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nacogdoches on Friday, Texas came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Lufkin Panthers on Monday, falling 3-0. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-16.

Kyleigh Perkins paced Texas' offense, picking up ten kills. Perkins also shared the team's lead in assists with Cruz Hopkins: they picked up eight each.

Texas' loss dropped their record down to 24-17. As for Lufkin, they pushed their record up to 34-9 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Texas will host McKinney North at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lufkin, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Melissa at 6:30 p.m.
