Basketball Recap: Brielle Medrano Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cornerstone Christian

Bakersfield Christian lost to Cornerstone Christian back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Eagles came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 56-46. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bakersfield Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brielle Medrano, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 19 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Martin, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and five boards.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenenna Amajioyi, who posted 18 points. Evalyn Mucio was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Bakersfield Christian now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Bakersfield Christian will challenge Cathedral Catholic at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-57 victory against Granada on the 22nd.
