Softball Recap: Drew Charter Comes Up Short

Drew Charter was the 23-10 winner over Salem when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. Drew Charter came up short against Salem on Wednesday, falling 17-5. Drew Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jayla Martin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with five stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Anaysa Glover, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Drew Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Salem, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-12.

Coming up, Drew Charter will welcome Miller Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem, they will venture away from home to face off against Columbia at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.86 runs per game on average), something the Seminoles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
