Soccer Recap: Athens/Greenview/Illini Central Falls to Mt. Zion in First Game of Season

Athens/Greenview/Illini Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Mt. Zion Braves on Tuesday. Athens/Greenview/Illini Central were not able to make up for their defeat to Mt. Zion from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens/Greenview/Illini Central will venture away from home to square off against Lutheran/Calvary at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Zion, they will head out to challenge Warrensburg-Latham at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
