Preview: Community Charter Titans vs. Lakeview Charter Lions
Community Charter is 0-10 against Lakeview Charter since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Community Charter Titans will head out on the road to take on the Lakeview Charter Lions at 4:00 p.m. Community Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Community Charter suffered their biggest defeat yet this season last Wednesday. They were outmatched by Triumph Charter at home and fell 51-13.
Meanwhile, Lakeview Charter put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They really took it to Triumph Charter for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-23 win at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Lakeview Charter considering their 23-point performance the match before.
Lakeview Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evelyn Quinonez, who almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, ten assists, and nine steals. Quinonez hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Liliana Word was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Community Charter's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Lakeview Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Community Charter was taken down by Lakeview Charter 57-6 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Community Charter was down 32-4.
