Softball Recap: St. Cecilia Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

St. Cecilia entered their tilt with Polk County on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Slammers with a sharp 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bluehawks, who have now won nine matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Audrey Rossow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Tatum Hawkinson and Maddison Bauer did most of the damage at the plate: Hawkinson went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Bauer went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. Kyler Weidner was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Cecilia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .692. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in five consecutive games.

St. Cecilia's record now sits at 14-4. As for Polk County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Coincidentally, St. Cecilia and Polk County will both be playing Fillmore Central the next time they take the field. The Slammers will head out to face the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bluehawks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
