East Laurens is a perfect 10-0 against Northeast since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. East Laurens will be strutting in after a victory while Northeast will be coming in after a defeat.
It was a Battle of the Birds when East Laurens challenged Montgomery County on Wednesday. The Falcons blew past the Eagles 13-3. Considering the Falcons have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jakeb Logue tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.
On the hitting side, East Laurens got a massive performance out of Sam Wynn, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI. That's the most hits Wynn has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Grayson Edge, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Northeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against East Laurens, falling 21-7.
Jordan Wiggins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Northeast: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-13 otherwise. Kenshawn Williams was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
The win made it two in a row for East Laurens and bumps their season record up to 15-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Northeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.
Everything went East Laurens' way against Northeast in their previous meeting on Tuesday, as East Laurens made off with a 21-7 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
