Football Recap: Organ Mountain Knights vs. Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls
Organ Mountain extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They took a blow against the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls, falling 35-7. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavemen/Cavegirls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
When it comes to explaining why Organ Mountain lost, don't look at Zeke Weir. Despite the final result, he picked up 135 receiving yards and one TD. Weir showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 62 yards.
As for Carlsbad, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.
MARLEY MUNOZ had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 149 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, and also threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. He is becoming a predictor of Carlsbad's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The Cavemen/Cavegirls' leading receiver ROBERT CASTANEDA was MUNOZ's top target yet again, picking up 142 receiving yards and three TDs.
