Basketball Game Preview: Upper Darby Royals vs. Ridley Raiders

The Upper Darby Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Ridley Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Upper Darby has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

On Thursday, Upper Darby took a blow against Conestoga, falling 70-20. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Pioneers are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, Ridley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 45-34 to Lower Merion.

Ridley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Upper Darby, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Things could have been worse for Upper Darby, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-25 loss to Ridley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Upper Darby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
