Softball Recap: Vista PEAK Prep Comes Up Short

Vista PEAK Prep extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 3-8. They came up short against the Silver Creek Raptors, falling 13-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bison couldn't push the score so high this time.

Vista PEAK Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalilia Biersack, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

As for Silver Creek, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5. The result was nothing new for the Raptors, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

On Silver Creek's side, they got a great performance from Abby LaCrosse as she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave LaCrosse a new career-high.

At the plate, Josie Etcheverry was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mae Hickey, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Vista PEAK Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-12 victory against Denver East on the 25th. As for Silver Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Horizon on the 25th.
