Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfield). They blew past the Johnson Warriors, posting an 80-18 win. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 419th, while the Warriors are ranked 1136th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fairfield pushed their record up to 19-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.0 points over those games. As for Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-17.

The future could be bright for both Fairfield and Johnson: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Fairfield will look to extend Florin's 11-game losing streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Johnson will try to hand Valley their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
