Softball Recap: Lutheran's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 13

Lutheran had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the D'Evelyn Jaguars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2021.

Annie Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lutheran's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reese Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Kiley Glenn, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base.

Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for D'Evelyn, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5.

Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for D'Evelyn, they will take on Mesa Ridge at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
