Basketball Game Preview: Ceres Bulldogs vs. Central Valley Hawks

The Ceres Bulldogs will take on the Central Valley Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ceres is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Ceres came up short against Beyer and fell 58-51.

Ceres' loss came about despite a quality game from Sovannary Carter, who posted 21 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Carter a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Lilly Staggs, who put up nine points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 51-22 loss at the hands of Lathrop. The Hawks were down 36-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Ceres' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-20.

Everything came up roses for Ceres against Central Valley when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 58-16 victory. Does Ceres have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
