Kern Valley piles up the points against Mammoth

Recap: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Mammoth Huskies

The Kern Valley Broncs waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They claimed a resounding 61-21 win over Mammoth on the road. With Kern Valley ahead 35-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

It was another big night for Ava Elliott, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leenah Troller, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Mammoth still got an impressive performance from Nicole Smyth, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Esme Carrillo, who scored four points.

Kern Valley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Mammoth, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-12.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Boron the next time they take the court. Kern Valley will host Boron at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Mammoth will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
