Softball Recap: Wheeler County Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Laurens, Wheeler County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against Toombs County by a score of 8-4. For Wheeler County, this counts as revenge for the 11-2 win Toombs County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Wheeler County pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Toombs County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Wheeler County will head out to challenge Treutlen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Toombs County, they will host Vidalia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
