Volleyball Recap: Billerica Memorial's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against North Andover on Wednesday, Billerica Memorial came back down to earth. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Central Catholic Raiders on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Billerica Memorial took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-23.

Kendra Marino paced Billerica Memorial's offense, picking up eight kills. Marino got some help from Meghan Downs and her 22 assists. Finally, Addysun McNeal and Angella Muyanja kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Billerica Memorial moved to 5-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-match winning streak. As for Central Catholic, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Billerica Memorial has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Andover on the 6th. As for Central Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Methuen on the 6th.
