Football Recap: Rhinelander Takes a Loss

Rhinelander managed to slip by Tomahawk the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hodags were dealt a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Hatchets on Friday. The Hodags were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Tomahawk found their leader in sophomore Cash Olsen, who rushed for 68 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 143 yards and two TDs on only six passes. Another player making a difference was Tiegan Sarazin, who rushed for 131 yards on only five carries.

Rhinelander's defeat dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Tomahawk, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rhinelander will host Antigo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hodags are facing the Red Robins at the right time seeing as the Red Robins are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tomahawk, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Mosinee at 7:00 p.m.
