Basketball Game Preview: Carrollton Trojans vs. Central Red Devils

Having just played yesterday, the Carrollton Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Central Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Carrollton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

On Friday, Carrollton wrapped up 2024 with a 59-40 win over Jackson. The Trojans pushed the score to 46-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Central faced Bob Jones in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Central came up short against Bob Jones, falling 72-46. The Red Devils' loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.

Carrollton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-2.

Everything came up roses for Carrollton against Central when the teams last played back in November of 2020, as the squad secured a 62-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carrollton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
