Lee County waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets by a score of 8-5. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 10-2 win the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Ethan Powell made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Seth Franklin, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Cole Lindsey was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lee County pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
