Baseball Game Preview: Lee County Trojans vs. Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets

For the second straight game, Lee County will face off against Thomas County Central. Lee County will welcome Thomas County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lee County has eight straight victories, Thomas County Central has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Lee County beat Thomas County Central 8-5.

Ethan Powell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Seth Franklin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Cole Lindsey was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Lee County pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Thomas County Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
