Mount Airy had won three straight games and Taeshon Martin did his part to make it four on Friday. The Granite Bears breezed past the Forbush Falcons to the tune of 45-0 with plenty of help from Martin, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 50 receiving yards and one TD. He is becoming a predictor of Mount Airy's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mount Airy's defense and their six sacks. Braddox Sumner was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Mount Airy's record is now 6-2. As for Forbush, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.
Mount Airy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 62-10 win against Surry Central on the 24th. As for Forbush, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 41-3 loss against East Surry on the 24th.
