It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Pope ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodstock Wolverines, sneaking past 1-0. Given Pope's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Woodstock are ranked 293rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pope's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-5. As for Woodstock, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9.
