Football Game Preview: Kimball Cubs vs. Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles

Kimball is 1-6 against Eden Valley-Watkins since August of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cubs are taking a road trip to challenge the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Kimball is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 48 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Redwood Valley on Friday. They had to suffer through a 35-8 loss at the hands of the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Eden Valley-Watkins had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed past the Fighting Saints to the tune of 52-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Fighting Saints are ranked 244th).

Kimball's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Eden Valley-Watkins, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Kimball was able to grind out a solid victory over Eden Valley-Watkins in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 28-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cubs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
