Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kyla Calnin and Rylan Harder Lead Montello to Victory

Montello barely beat Markesan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hilltoppers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hornets on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Hilltoppers in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Montello was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-3, 25-8, 25-10.

Montello was led to victory by Rylan Harder and Kyla Calnin. Harder had seven digs and three aces, while Calnin had five digs and three aces. That's the most digs Calnin has posted over her last six games.

They weren't the only good server: Montello was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in ten consecutive contests.

Montello's record now sits at 13-4. As for Markesan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Montello has already played their next match (against Wautoma), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Markesan, they will take on Tri-County at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
